How to use the Edge PDF editor?

Answer

The built-in PDF editor in the Microsoft Edge browser is a powerful and convenient tool for working with documents without the need to install third-party software. To get started, you just need to open any PDF file directly in the browser window. This can be done by dragging the document from the desktop to an Edge tab, opening it using the open with command via the explorer context menu, or by following a direct link to the document on the internet.

Once the document opens, a special toolbar will appear at the top of the window, containing all the necessary functions for viewing, editing, and annotating files. This panel gathers tools for changing scale, page navigation, as well as means for making edits and notes.

The following basic features are provided for working with text and visual design:

The drawing tool allows you to make handwritten notes and draw lines with a choice of pen color and thickness.
The text highlighting tool makes it possible to highlight important fragments with a marker.
Text notes allow you to add comments anywhere in the document.
The form-filling function automatically recognizes interactive input fields and allows you to enter text directly into them.

When you complete all changes and document filling, the introduced edits must be saved. For this, you can use the standard keyboard shortcut Ctrl+S or click on the floppy disk icon on the editor's toolbar. You will be able to overwrite the original file or save the edited copy to a new location on your computer.
