How to use Edge Immersive Reader?

Immersive Reader in the Microsoft Edge browser is a powerful tool for comfortable consumption of textual content, which cleans web pages of unnecessary advertising, pop-up banners, and distracting interface elements. This feature is especially useful when reading long articles, news materials, or scientific publications, as it allows you to fully focus on the meaning of the text without visual noise.

To activate this mode, go to any site with an article and look at the right side of the address bar, where a special icon in the form of an open book with the letter A and a cursor should appear. You can also avoid using the mouse and simply press the F9 function key on the keyboard, after which the page instantly transforms into a concise format with large text on a clean background.

After activating the mode, a display settings control panel will become available to you, which is invoked at the top of the screen and allows you to finely tune the appearance of the page to your personal preferences. You can change the font size, line spacing, and choose various color themes, such as sepia, dark, or light theme, to reduce eye strain in the evening.

Additionally, you can use the Read aloud feature, which turns a text document into an audiobook using built-in speech synthesis algorithms. To do this, click the corresponding button on the control panel, after which the browser will start voicing the text with a pleasant voice with the ability to adjust the playback speed and select the necessary narrators right during listening.
