How to enable Edge performance mode?

Answer

Performance mode in Microsoft Edge is designed specifically to optimize your computer's system resources and extend your laptop's battery life. To activate this useful feature, you need to open the main menu of the browser by clicking on the three dots in the upper right corner and select Settings. In the left column of parameters, find and open the System and performance section.

In the parameter window that opens, find the optimization settings block and switch the toggle to the active position next to Efficiency mode. This mode intelligently manages computer resources, reducing the load on the central processor and RAM from background tabs that you are not currently using.

After enabling the mode, the system will prompt you to configure the conditions for its automatic activation for your usage scenarios. You can choose one of the following operating options:

Always turn on, so that maximum resource savings work constantly regardless of the power source.
Turn on only on battery power, which is critically important for laptop owners who want to increase device operating time away from an outlet.
Turn on at a certain battery charge level or upon detecting high system load from other running applications.

The main task of this function is to limit the background activity of inactive tabs, thanks to which the browser begins to consume significantly less energy. This allows not only saving portable computer battery power, but also freeing up processor computing power for comfortable work in other resource-intensive programs.
