Which lifting straps should I use?
Lifting straps are a useful accessory that helps athletes overcome the limits of a weak grip when performing heavy exercises. When the back and leg muscles are still able to continue the movement, but the fingers can no longer hold the slipping barbell, straps take on part of the load.
When choosing straps, you should pay attention to the material. They can be made of durable leather or wear-resistant nylon with soft neoprene inserts to protect the wrists from chafing.
However, using straps in every workout is strictly not recommended. If you constantly shift the load to auxiliary accessories, your natural grip strength will atrophy and lag in development.
Experts advise using straps only for the final, heaviest working sets. For example, for deadlifts, special Figure-8 straps are very popular, allowing you to instantly secure the barbell in your hands without unnecessary wrapping.
