How to enable and set up Reader View in Firefox for comfortable article reading?

Reader View in Mozilla Firefox automatically cleans up web pages from annoying ads, pop-ups, extra menus, and heavy banners, leaving only the text and essential illustrations. This feature is ideal for comfortably studying long articles, news publications, and academic materials without distractions.

When you navigate to a text-heavy page of a site, pay attention to the right side of the address bar. If the Reader View icon, which looks like an open book, is active and highlighted, it means the current page is supported by the cleanup algorithms. Click on this icon with the left mouse button or use the keyboard shortcut combination.

After activation, the page instantly transforms, taking on the concise look of a book spread. A special appearance control panel will appear to the left of the text, allowing you to fine-tune the content display to suit your individual vision characteristics and personal preferences.

In the panel that opens, you can change the font type (serif or sans-serif), increase or decrease the letter size, adjust the text width and line spacing. Color themes are also available, including light, dark, and sepia, which reduces eye strain when reading in low-light conditions.
