How to clear the cache in Firefox?
Regularly clearing the cache in the Mozilla Firefox browser helps resolve many common issues, including page freezing, incorrect display of design elements, or retaining outdated information on web resources. The cache is a temporary storage area for files that the browser downloads when visiting sites to speed up their reloading in the future. Over time, this volume of data can increase significantly, taking up free space on the hard drive and potentially slowing down the entire program.
The fastest and most convenient way to delete accumulated temporary files is to use a special keyboard shortcut. To do this, open the browser and simultaneously press the Ctrl, Shift, and Delete keys on your keyboard. A small modal window titled Clear Recent History will appear on the screen, where you can configure the clearing parameters.
In the window that appears, find the drop-down menu with the time range to clear at the top and select Everything to clear the cache for the entire period of browser use. Then carefully review the suggested list of items and make sure that the checkbox next to Cache is selected. You can leave other types of data, such as browsing history or saved passwords, untouched depending on your personal needs.
After configuring all settings, click the Clear Now button located at the bottom of the window. The cleaning process will take just a few seconds, after which the browser will automatically delete all temporary files. Restarting the program after this action is usually not required, but you can refresh open tabs for the changes to take effect.
There is also an alternative graphical way to reach the required section through the browser's main menu. To do this, click on the icon with three horizontal lines in the upper right corner of the window and select Settings. In the left sidebar, go to the Privacy & Security section, scroll down to the Cookies and Site Data block, and click the Clear Data button. In the window that opens, leave the checkbox checked only next to Cached Web Content and confirm the action with the Clear button.
