Windows: how to diagnose performance and services issues?
Diagnosing performance issues and freezes in the Windows operating system may seem like a complex task; however, a systematic approach allows you to quickly find and eliminate the root cause of any malfunction. Before trying to fix the system using random methods, it is recommended to draw up a clear checklist that will help you consistently check all key aspects of the computer's operation.
First of all, check the stability of the operating system installation and the correct operation of background services. Open Task Manager using the Ctrl + Shift + Esc keyboard shortcut and assess the load on the CPU, RAM, and disk subsystem. If a certain service causes a consistently high load, examine its origin and, if necessary, disable it via the services management snap-in.
The next step is to configure regular maintenance and system backups. Creating backups of critical data and regularly updating components reduces the number of so-called mystical problems to a minimum. Go through all the items on your checklist once, including checking the integrity of system files via the command line using the sfc /scannow command, and you will notice how significantly the stability of your computer increases.
