How to transfer saved passwords and autofill data to Opera using a CSV file?

Sometimes standard data import from other browsers during initial setup does not work properly, or you need to transfer accounts from an old computer without direct access to the programs installed there. In such cases, manual import and export via CSV files comes to the rescue.

To export passwords from another browser, open its settings, go to the credentials management section, click the three-dot menu next to the saved passwords section, and select the file download option. The operating system's security system will ask you to confirm your identity using a PIN code or account password.

To import the received file into the Opera browser, you will first need to enable the corresponding experimental flag. Type opera://flags in the address bar, find the Password import parameter via the search bar, switch its state to Enabled, and then restart the browser.

After restarting, go to Opera settings at opera://settings/passwords, click the additional actions menu in the top right corner of the password list, and select the Import files item. Specify the path to the saved CSV file from your disk.

After completing the import procedure, it is recommended to go back to the flags section at opera://flags and disable the password import feature for security purposes, as well as be sure to delete the downloaded file with credentials from the computer's downloads folder.
