The next potential culprit is the switch. Over time, the contacts inside it can oxidize, loosen, or burn out, especially if a heavy load is connected to them. If a visual inspection shows signs of carbon buildup or sparks when turning it on, it is better to completely replace the switch with a new one. The malfunction may also be hidden in the junction box or the apartment electrical panel, where the clamp of the neutral or phase wire on the circuit breaker has loosened.

If the lights flicker in all rooms simultaneously or even throughout the entire apartment building, the problem is external. This may be due to accidents at the substation, severe power grid overload caused by neighbors, or maintenance work carried out by your electricity provider. In such a situation, it is recommended to contact the management company or emergency service to clarify the causes and deadlines for resolving the issues in the city grid or on the power lines.
