How to manage website access permissions to hardware sensors and geolocation in the browser?

Modern web applications request access to the camera, microphone, geolocation, and other device sensors to implement interactive features. Attackers may attempt to use these permissions for covert surveillance of the user through compromised sites.

To ensure control, go to the global site permissions settings in your browser. Set a default block for all access requests to sensitive features. Now, every new site will have to explicitly request permission, allowing you to make informed decisions.

Periodically audit already granted permissions in the dedicated privacy settings section. Remove access for sites you no longer use to minimize potential risks of unauthorized information collection.

Pay attention to the camera and microphone activity indicators that appear on the taskbar or in the browser interface. If the indicator is lit and you are not using video communication, immediately close the suspicious tab and check the list of active permissions.
