How to set Brave Search as the default search engine?

The Brave browser offers users its own independent search engine, Brave Search, which does not track your queries and browsing history. If you want to make it your primary tool for searching from the address bar, the setup process takes just a few minutes.

To get started, open the main browser menu by clicking the three-line icon in the top right corner of the screen and go to Settings. In the left sidebar, select Search engine, and a list of available options for default use will appear.

In the Search engine used in the address bar dropdown menu, select Brave Search. You can also click the Manage search engines and site search button to fine-tune settings or completely remove unused services from the list.

After completing these simple steps, all search queries entered directly into the browser's address bar will be automatically processed through Brave Search's private servers. This provides an additional layer of privacy on top of the already running ad-tracking and blocking features.
